Why cant they make a darker version of superman for the movie franchise?

Superman movie script writers should learn from Chris Nolan's success with Dark Knight and stop trying to repeat the superman movies of the 80s. Plus they should move in from looking for a Chris reeves look alike. New beginning pls.|||I 100% agree. They need to aim at getting an actor that looks more like Superman than Mr. Reeves. That was stupid decision on the part of the crappy Superman Returns. Also make it a fight to the death against a real killer like Doomsday. It needs to have a serious tone, and all the slapstick with the Clark Kent character should be done away with. Make it epic! Joe Mangianello is a perfect choice for the Man of Steel, 6 foot 6, full of muscles, very good looking and the guy can definitely act. If not Mangianello, then maybe Jon Hamm.|||Well, all they need to do is get Tim Burton on board. I believe it Tim Burton reproduced movies such as this in the macabre, 'dark' manner he's associated with then not only would the film be re-invented but it may also draw in a more lucrative fan base.

I think the only problem with reinventing Superman is that it would take away alot of the kid-like fantasy elements associated with it, i know older guys (And women) like this movie but it is specifically aimed at kids and has always been quite...Vanilla. lol So the reception would be unpredictable as the film has been sort of foregrounded within the mainstream.|||I think Superman's stripes are too manichean. Superman is always a very good superhero, with his pure heart and so on, while Batman has his dark side, his doubts, his... I don't know

Besides, all the Superman Comic strips are usually too colorful, while Batman is always a pretty dark shape (including that great ones by Frank Miller, Sin City's drawer) which helps to provide the movies of its darker tones which likes both audience and critics equally.|||There are dark times. The movies these days tend to be a bit lighter just to ensure a more emotionally positive cinematic experience. While the Dark Knight had quite a bit of success with a darker angle, many studios still see such a move as risky and tend to follow the "feelgood" doctrine.|||A new beginning would ruin the entire franchise. And a darker superman would ruin it also. it only worked for the Dark Knight becasue they decided to reboot the franchise, its not Batman in my eyes.|||it aint gonna happen, superman will always be a goody two shoes

tho theres talk of a batman+superman in the same film together, probs suck but id watch
