when Man of Steel /Post-Crisis came along he had a quasi-mullet which also more or less didn't grow beyond that style (which I have seen happen to people), and they also established that as far as facial hair/stubble he redirects his heat vision off of a polished piece of metal to burn it off (often stated as a piece of his spaceship, but a simple mirror is often used in live action shots)|||you are all wrong. I know for a fact he wears a wig.
