In 2002, Wolfgang Peterson was planning to direct a movie with Batman facing off against Superman. Then he bailed out to direct Troy. Do you believe the merger of Batman and Superman will ever come about?|||The big problem with such a movie isn't contracts.
The problem is tone, and continuity.
In "Superman Returns" Superman is shown to be a guardian of the world, helping people through out the world who need help.
But in "The Dark Knight" and "Batman Begins" Gotham City is shown as a city completely on its own, without any help outside of the city.
More importantly, the tone is so different. The Superman movies have been about hope and courage, while Batman is about fear and corruption.
While I would love to see a "World's Finest" movie, or even a "Justice League" movie, I just don't think it's in the cards.|||it would be hard because un like marvel which owns the rights to all it's movies, dc stupidly sold all it's rights to different companies, i think warner bros. might have the rights now for batman and superman but if they don't then getting to competitors to make a movie together would be very hard, i think that is the biggest road block in the way|||Warner Bros do own both Batman and Superman...
i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that its back on the cards...
and after the dark night. i think they're leading to a justice league movie as well...

Especially with all the superhero movies they're making now, its a strong possibility|||that would be a good movie
