Actually, the outcome of this fight was already decided in the 1990's (find a copy of Marvel vs. DC) and Superman won in about 2 pages. Superman has also knocked the tar out of Thor. Thor is the character regularly called upon in the Marvel universe when someone is needed to stop (or at least slow down) the Hulk. In Avengers/JLA #2 not only did Superman kick the tar out of Thor but it took the combined efforts of other Marvel powerhouses, She-Hulk, Hercules,Wonder-Man, the Vision and Iron Man to knock out Superman and that was after he had just finished off Thor.
This of course is assuming that we are talking about the modern day Superman. If this was a fight between the Hulk and the "pre-Crisis" Superman (the one who could move planets) it wouldn't have even been a fight. Superman would have won no questions asked.
Is that enough information or would you simply prefer the answer, "Hulk smash!"
Yet, I am compelled to make one final argument. Wolverine often fights the Hulk and one couldn't seriously suggest that Wolverine is in the same power level as Superman.|||superman beat hulk before

Unlike DC, Marvel actually makes characters that wouldn't be god-like to where nothing can beat him.

|||I think it depends on the situation, and who writes the story ..so let's pick a neutral environment for them to fight.. let's place superman and the hulk in the dragon ball z's famous time chamber and let them train for 1 year and then goku, vegeta, gohan, and the rest of the dbz fighters will be the audience while superman and hulk fight int he mountains and the winner will be... superman because he has more tools like the lazer eyes, he can fly, and he's strong, but won't be as strong as hulk cause there is not limit on his strength but hulk will be slower cause of his muscles... remember that dbz episode people?|||Hulk is more powerful, sure. But Superman is smarter and quicker, plus he can fly and has laser eyes. Spider-Man pretty much kicked the Hulk's @ss in his early years, though, and Spidey's far from invincible. Hulk is beast, but I'd have to say the edge goes to Supe on this one.|||Thing is, superman is able to fly, doesn't need air, and he is stronger than hulk.
