What is so hard about making a good Superman movie?

That last movie was little more than an inferior remake of the original 1978 Christopher Reeve movie. I know if I had the resources (which I don't) to make a Superman movie that it would be MUCH, MUCH, better than that waste of time and money. Also why can't they find and actor that really looks like the superman depicted in the comics rather than some Chris Reeve clone? Are genuine bodybuilders that bad at acting?|||in my opinion they should get tom welling cause he is good on smallville . and when the new one comes out it should have a darker tone to it|||I must say that Superman Returns was THE most dull superhero film i've seen since Hulk.

I think the prob with superman is that as he is virtually indestructible its hard to see what type of film they can put him in as there is no foe who can really stand up to him (only the crappy Lex Luthor). There must be some sort of super powered villain in the comics they could pit him against (haven't read them myself) . Then you could have a good film.

Otherwise all you can do is put him in a disaster movie where he has to save people from a blown up dam or something which doesn't sound very interesting.|||Superman was meant for a simpler time- He is all good, all powerful- there's no drama or conflict or excitement when he can do anything- oh except for a very convenient plot device called Kryptonite- which makes it that much easier to see what the villain is planning. Superman's simplistic world just doesn't make for an interesting movie anymore. We crave something more real- grittier and a character with flaws more like us- the reason a film like The Dark Knight is so powerful and was such a success.|||You didn't like Brandon Routh?

I thought it was pretty fun to watch. . .

I don't know how you plan to make it better. . .

But good luck with that. . .

鈽衡樆|||Superman is simply not that impressive so i guess that's why it's hard to make a a good Superman movie...
