These flashes could help warn Superman of danger in the similar way that Spider-Man's spider-sense works. Would that make Superman too powerful? I don't think so.
What do you think?|||Is it necessary though, seeing as how he's invulnerable and can't be hurt by anything _on_ the Periodic Table of Elements? See that's the thing--Spidey can get hurt if he ignores his Spider-Sense, or if it just plain doesn't work, which was an early advantage Venom had over Spider-Man.
Superman literally can't get hurt unless red solar radiation turns his powers off, or unless kryptonite radiation is involved.
Not to mention....Superman already has heightened vision and hearing at least. He can already spot things--seeing and hearing them through walls no less--from miles away.
Basically this does bring up the more fundamental issue: If Superman is smart and not a complete wuss, how _do_ you keep him from being a God? Likewise with any superman-type (note the lower case) who might have Precognition in the place of the heightened senses....how do you keep someone that powerful from "being a God" when they know what's coming?
That's the thing. How do you make that work and tell a compelling story? I'm not saying it's impossible--I'm saying there's a degree of difficulty to it. It's going to be work.
Good luck on that. ^__^|||Some may say Superman is all ready way to powerful. That is a cool power but seems unnecessary for Superman, I mean, he's all ready faster than a speeding bullet and bulletproof. I think Superman just lets things hit him sometimes to show off that it doesn't really hurt lol. Spider-man on the other hand does need his spider-sense otherwise he'd be screwed.
