How does Superman and other Kryptonians fly?

It's obvious that Superman, Supergirl and all the other Kryptonians are telekinetic, which would explain how they are capable of flying. How does Superman control what direction he moves in when he's flying? How does he initiate take-offs?





Can someone please help me out?|||Oh, we all know that the creator of Superman just wanted him to fly without exploring any scientific reasoning behind it!|||guys, you can't be black-and white about ****. Look at the Physics of Superheroes.

Superman is from Krypton which was destroyed of course you know that what you don't know is that on Krypton he would of just been a normal person although longer living. On Earth he has super powers. What you are talking about with flight has been explained by two different methods neither of which have really been agreed on as canon (unless someone else knows a specific comic issue that discusses this)





The first is that he can vibrate his skin to such a high frequency that it literally acts as an ionizer to pull air over his body. However this idea is null when you get into space so it really does not work out there even though some geeks will swear that its how he does it.





Second and more accepted theory is that he creates a small psychic vortex in front of him. His speed is only limited to his understanding of his flight capabilities. This vortex sucks his body forward. Think of it as a powerful Vacuum sucking him in the direction he wants to go. He simply changes the direction of the vortex to go in a new heading.





Superman himself though does not really understand how he does it and the second theory is not exactly canon but it seems to be the most likely one since he can fly in space also.|||the general consensus from what I've read is either A) it's a giant controlable leap or B) he's able to manipulate his personal gravitational field with an extreme degree of control.|||He's actually Chuck Norris and we all know that Chuck Norris can do ANYTHING without an explanation ^__^|||Its a free world, he can do whatever he wants, including the power to defy logic and gravity.|||Superman can fly because he is better than you.|||Super farts.|||tghytr
