What are some ways that Superman and Batman are alike?

I'm doing a Compare Essay for my writing class and my two subjects are Superman and Batman. What are some ways that you could compare the two?|||Batman wears his underwear on the outside too...





They both have a strong sense of Justice, and neither is willing to outright kill their opponent to win. They're two of the pillars of DC's superhuman community, and act as role models for several other heroes. Justice League founders (several times over :p).|||It can be said that both have 3 seperate identities, one that is the real person and 2 that are fake.





Batman %26amp; Superman are fake and are only there to inspire - Batman=fear, Superman=hope





Bruce Wayne %26amp; Clark Kent are fake, both are only in existents to hide in public - Bruce is an arrogant rich boy (batman would say Bruce died when he was 8 years old with his parents), Clark Kent is a glasses wearing weak nerd who is shown to the general public (outside of his friends and family)





Lastly are the true identities of the heroes to help tell them apart from the other two we will call them The Dark Knight(DK) and Kal-El(superman's Krypton name) -





The DK is the one shown to the Bat-family (Robin, Alfred, Batgirl, ect.) and his closest "friends" Commissioner James Gordon and the Superhero community (only those that know his secret identity). DK is not trying to scare them he trust them. It is stated but him at one point that Gordon is to good of a detective to not have figured out who batman is (it is hint that he knew in the first year of Batman's activity).





Kal-El is and alien raised by the Kent’s. He is not aware that he is an alien till his late teens, he only thinks he is "special” growing up he thinks of himself only as the son of Ma %26amp; Pa Kent. After college he travels the world saving people not as superman but as himself. He slowly over the years drops the "Clark Kent" mask and let's people know him and all of them start to figure out he is Superman(Batman states that Perry White; Clarks editor is to good of a reporter to not has figured it out, Jimmy Olson recently revealed that he knows Clark is Superman, Lois was unable to tell because she was blinded by love - she married Clark(Kal-El) before she knew he was superman, Clarks friends growing up Pete and Lana in Smallville know that Clark is Superman without him telling them) Kal-El also interacts with fellow heroes not as superman but as Kal-El(some even refer to him as such)





Side note: The green Lantern ring uses the subconscious to construct a uniform for the wearer (each one is different for each person). When Batman wears it he has a green and black Batman costume showing that in his mind he is Batman not Bruce Wayne. When superman wears it Lois comments to him that he does not have a Superman inspired uniform (he doesn't even have a cape or S) but is merely Clark Kent in street cloths with a green aura. This shows that he sees himself as Clack Kent not Superman.|||I Like Batman


I don't like superman just because he wears underwears on his pants. lol :-)


They both have different identities and i think you must be knowing this.
