Is Tom Welling from Smallville going to be in the new Superman movie?

Is he going to play superman? And is the girl that plays Lois Lane going to play Lois?|||More than likely not. This is going to be the last season for smallville because Tom Welling is tired of doing it, he is having a hard time getting other roles because he is so identified with Clark Kent. According to imdb.com he has nothing coming up.|||I'd love to see another Superman movie but DC/Warner has dropped the ball. I don't think we will see another Superman movie for a while. The theatres are cluttered with other superhero movies and they missed their opportunity to do a good Superman movie.





The public lost interest when Bryan Singer decided to add too much of what "HE" liked, his own personal ideas, rather than poll fans and see what "THEY" like.





The trouble with hiring Hollywood types to do comic based movies is that they surround themselves with so many familiar people, within their own circle. These people get so used to what everyone, in the circle, likes, that they all end up agreeing on the same ideas and they have NO idea what those OUTSIDE the circle (the fans) like.





Singer has the tendacy to surround himself with people who readily agree with him and his ideas. After a while, he becomes convinced that his way is always the right way, without ever considering other ideas. He bagan on the wrong path with his Superman Returns idea and never deviated from it.





I'm sure if there was a poll before the movie was released, I'd bet that 70% or more would have been against the idea of Lois having Superman's child. The idea dominated the movie and it became a soap opera. Superman is among the TOP level in the DCU and MU. What good is a Superman movie if he's not fighting a super powered villain?





Kevin Spacey played a perfect Luthor (better than the silly, campy Hackman). I'm ok with Luthor being in every Superman movie. However, EVERY Superman movie, after the 2nd Reeves series, should have featured a super powered villain.





The 3 villains from Krypton was a great idea for it's time. Some Superman villains cant carry the screen alone, so keep Luthor in it. I love the idea of him creating Bizarro but that was done (just called him Nuclear man) in the 4th movie. Even THAT could be redone. Can you imagine the fight scene in TODAY's Special Effects?





The Superman franchise is nearly depleted. Death of Superman SHOULD be done but there should be a movie leading up to it.





Brainiac is LONG overdue. I'd love to see him but NOT merged with Luthor. I could see Luthor attempting a deal with Brainiac, only to be double-crossed.





Metallo would also be a good villain. So would Parasite.





I'd love to see two villains.|||I don't know,but I did hear he was the 1st choice for Superman Returns,but he declined because(if memory serves)he didn't want to fall victim to the "Superman curse"
