Will the ps3 ever come out with a new Superman game?
I want to know if the ps3 or xbox 360 will ever come out with a new superman game. Superman returns was pretty bad. Does anyone else have a problem with the ending to Superman 2?
I mean come on, Superman uses a maguffin device to steal the powers of the supervillains in order to defeat them? First off, that's way too easy, and VERY anticlimactic. Second, it's really predictable and seems to me like whoever penned the script wrote himself into a corner and couldn't figure any other way out aside from this. If you have to choose between Batman and Superman, which one would you pick to named your child and why?
I choose Batman because he is the best superhero of them all. He is best of the best and way better than Superman. I like dark superheroes like Spawn and replicas black costume Spider-man from Spider-man 3 without Venom. I think Peter should make a whole brunch of the black costumes and wear it permanently in the next sequel if they are going do one more. I saw in the newest movie where Superman caught that plan before it crashed in to the baseball arena, so he must be well 'ard.
But I also saw the hulk bash that other big ol' monster in the last movie, and he chucked tanks about like they were whicker baskets.

Why do people think hulk can beat superman in a fist fight?
now I'm not hashing up the old superman vs. hulk fights. I'm asking why do marvel or comic fans think hulk a giant green monster has a shot against a alien hero that's just as strong but much faster, versatile, and smarter. Any opinions on this. This is not a vs. question it's a why question.|||The hulk can get indefinitely stronger/quicker the more he is frustrated/ angry. Superman is fixed in strength. Hulk can also heal extremely quickly from wounds and regrow tissue. Superman also has an obvious weakness (kryptonite), whereas the hulk doesn't. If hulk hit superman away from our yellow sun (which either of them could easily do) then superman would lose all his strength too.

Its reaaaaaally hard to make a judgement on this.

Whats the most amazing physical feat Superman has done?
I realize there are different versions of him in different comics. However, if he is Superman, from Krypton, and not a robot or clone or whatever, then he counts.
I want it in terms of sheer physical power. Juggling plants is the best I've heard.|||I read an old Superboy comic where he BLEW OUT a supernova with his super breath, like it was a birthday candle...!
On more than one occasion, he's also re-lit dead, burned out stars with his heat vision.
I have also seen cases where he needed to relocate an alien race whose planet was about to explode soon (so he couldn't just shove the planet around) so he smashed asteroids together to BUILD a planet.
And there was a classic Superman/ Flash team up where they both temporarily had amnesia and each thought he was the other hero. They'd been trying to protect Earth from an alien seed that would fall from space, dig into the planet and when the root grew, split the planet open. The seed beat them the first time, giving them amnesia. They were unable to knock it off course for Earth. What is so hard about making a good Superman movie?
That last movie was little more than an inferior remake of the original 1978 Christopher Reeve movie. I know if I had the resources (which I don't) to make a Superman movie that it would be MUCH, MUCH, better than that waste of time and money. Also why can't they find and actor that really looks like the superman depicted in the comics rather than some Chris Reeve clone? Are genuine bodybuilders that bad at acting?|||in my opinion they should get tom welling cause he is good on smallville . and when the new one comes out it should have a darker tone to it|||I must say that Superman Returns was THE most dull superhero film i've seen since Hulk.

Superman's simplistic world just doesn't make for an interesting movie anymore. Is Tom Welling from Smallville going to be in the new Superman movie?
Is he going to play superman? And is the girl that plays Lois Lane going to play Lois?|||More than likely not. This is going to be the last season for smallville because Tom Welling is tired of doing it, he is having a hard time getting other roles because he is so identified with Clark Kent. According to imdb.com he has nothing coming up.|||I'd love to see another Superman movie but DC/Warner has dropped the ball. I don't think we will see another Superman movie for a while. The theatres are cluttered with other superhero movies and they missed their opportunity to do a good Superman movie.
The public lost interest when Bryan Singer decided to add too much of what "HE" liked, his own personal ideas, rather than poll fans and see what "THEY" like.
The trouble with hiring Hollywood types to do comic based movies is that they surround themselves with so many familiar people, within their own circle. These people get so used to what everyone, in the circle, likes, that they all end up agreeing on the same ideas and they have NO idea what those OUTSIDE the circle (the fans) like.
Singer has the tendacy to surround himself with people who readily agree with him and his ideas. After a while, he becomes convinced that his way is always the right way, without ever considering other ideas. He bagan on the wrong path with his Superman Returns idea and never deviated from it.
I'm sure if there was a poll before the movie was released, I'd bet that 70% or more would have been against the idea of Lois having Superman's child. The idea dominated the movie and it became a soap opera. Superman is among the TOP level in the DCU and MU. What good is a Superman movie if he's not fighting a super powered villain?
Kevin Spacey played a perfect Luthor (better than the silly, campy Hackman). I'm ok with Luthor being in every Superman movie. However, EVERY Superman movie, after the 2nd Reeves series, should have featured a super powered villain.
The 3 villains from Krypton was a great idea for it's time. Some Superman villains cant carry the screen alone, so keep Luthor in it. I love the idea of him creating Bizarro but that was done (just called him Nuclear man) in the 4th movie. Even THAT could be redone. Can you imagine the fight scene in TODAY's Special Effects?
The Superman franchise is nearly depleted. Death of Superman SHOULD be done but there should be a movie leading up to it.
Brainiac is LONG overdue. I'd love to see him but NOT merged with Luthor. I could see Luthor attempting a deal with Brainiac, only to be double-crossed.
Metallo would also be a good villain. So would Parasite.

What if Superman had precognitive flashes?
These flashes could help warn Superman of danger in the similar way that Spider-Man's spider-sense works. Would that make Superman too powerful? I don't think so.

See that's the thing--Spidey can get hurt if he ignores his Spider-Sense, or if it just plain doesn't work, which was an early advantage Venom had over Spider-Man.

Superman was created Seventy years ago. I'm 49 and still a fan. I collect comic books, but I would've love to possess that issue. (Sigh!) Only a pipe dream.|||The owner of Diamond Distributors offered one million dollars for a near mint copy of Action Comics #1 a few years ago but nobody has come forward with a copy in that condition yet. Why was Henry Cavill picked as the next superman for the upcoming movie?
I think Henry Cavill is a bad choice. They should have gone for someone like the new Thor Chris Hemsworth whose bulked up. Superman isn't skinny!|||Cavill is putting on a lot of muscle for the role so he won't look skinny (which Cavill isn't already).
Anyhow Superman isn't really supposed to look like a bulked up God (like Hemsworth needed to be). He gets his strength from the Sun and his powers, not personal strength.
Also Cavill is an excellent actor and has the look of Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent even in Zach Snyder's new take.|||Superman isn't a hulking man that is the size of a monster truck. If he was people would know that Clark is Superman! He has to be able to blend in, which he does well. His power doesn't come from exercising or "muscle mass" it comes from the yellow sun (versus the red sun that Krypton has). Previous Supermans were not bulked up either (Kirk Alan, George Reeve, Christopher Reeves, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh). They looked human. Sure they were toned, but that's more for the viewing audience (would you really want Superman to have a beer belly?).
As for someone new, I would have to agree with you on that although Cavill isn't really an A list celebrity yet. Christ Hemsworth is now associated with Thor and Marvel Comics so it is only natural they do not pick him for such an iconic role. Cavill WILL bulk up for his role as Superman. He has to look good in tights anyway for us ladies! ;-)
The only thing I'm worried about is his accent. If he has a British accent I'm going to be pissed. Nothing against England but Superman is from KANSAS. If anything he should have a hick accent :-P. I am withholding judgment until I see him in the role. He may surprise us. Just watch the movie and enjoy it!|||while Superman isn't 'skinny' he isn't always depicted as 'jacked up' either... remember his strength is based on how he absorbs solar radiation and not what he bench presses
having just re-watched Cavill's performance in Count of Monte Cristo I can see him playing either Clark or Superman... but like any actor it's all about how he will play Both of them at once

Previous Supermans were not bulked up either (Kirk Alan, George Reeve, Christopher Reeves, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh). They looked human. Sure they were toned, but that's more for the viewing audience (would you really want Superman to have a beer belly?).
As for someone new, I would have to agree with you on that although Cavill isn't really an A list celebrity yet. Christ Hemsworth is now associated with Thor and Marvel Comics so it is only natural they do not pick him for such an iconic role. Cavill WILL bulk up for his role as Superman. He has to look good in tights anyway for us ladies! ;-)
The only thing I'm worried about is his accent. If he has a British accent I'm going to be pissed. Nothing against England but Superman is from KANSAS. If anything he should have a hick accent :-P. I am withholding judgment until I see him in the role. He may surprise us. having just re-watched Cavill's performance in Count of Monte Cristo I can see him playing either Clark or Superman... but like any actor it's all about how he will play Both of them at once

I mean in most polls I've seen, the greatest comic book superhero is always either Batman or Superman? Why is it so when Marvel also has great characters?|||They also outshine the great characters in their own company , because they were the first overly popular superheroes that they set the bar. there are aspects of Batman and Superman in every superhero that came after its an unfair bias sure but they are what people remember.The only other Superhero that is up there with them is Spiderman personalty wise the three of them cover every aspect of what you can do with a superhero story.|||because. if you ask a little kid theyre gonna pick the guy who's invincible to all things but one, or the cool guy who has a cool and and cool weapons. thats just how it is. personally theres so many others I prefer, but it's kinda like music. sometimes the most popular is the worst.|||Batman and Superman are the icons of DC and have been around since the 1930s. Most of Marvel's finest were created in the 60s (Spider-man, X-Men, Iron Man, F4, Avengers, Hulk, Thor etc) and although are still popular (I think for a lot of people Spider-man is on par with Superman and Batman) have not had the 70 years to become legendary like Batman and Superman (Marvel's older characters like Namor and stuff did not become as popular as Bats and Supes).

the series is on it's 700th issue, with the same character, the same storyline, the same adventures though still it sells. Batman has always had changes, deaths, evolutions, different Batman's but there has mostly been only one Superman.|||I just wanted to point out that Superman, like Batman, is not in the same continuity as in the '40s, 50s, etc. Today's Batman, Superman, etc. have been around for 20, 25 years. (Granted, with all the different origin stories and Crisis Whatevers of recent years, this may have changed, but I doubt it.)
While Superman, like the others, has obviously had multiple storylines over these years, Superman is an especially difficult character to write. It's not that his comics endure, but the character endures, and the idea of Superman endures. What do you think about a grown man obsessed with Superman?
His office is full of memorabilia. He frequently wears ties and t-shirts with the logo. He has a Superman license frame. Here's the best one...he had someone do a Superman painting and put his face on it.|||too weird..|||I think he should get a better role model for himself. I just got this game for the sole reason that it has Superman on it. Would Superman be able to survive an atomic bomb hitting him in the head and detonating?
If that can kill him then why did Lex Luther waste his time getting kryptonite when it takes forever to actually kill him. The bomb would be instant. And don't tell me Lex couldn't get an atomic bomb. If he was able to get Kryptonite then I'm sure he could get an A-bomb off a street vendor or something.

What is the real name of the pomeranian dog in Blade Trinity and Superman Returns?
Is the pomeranian that Posie Parker has in Superman Returns the same pomeranian that Triple H has in Blade Trinity? Also what are the dog(s) names?|||I know the animal coordinator used for the scene in Blade Trinity was creative animal talents and they have a Pom named Bam Bam listed as well as credits for dogs used in the movie. There is no other Pom listed on their page. I believe that Pac-man is the character name in the movie, not the animals actual name.

Does the superman movies better follow the comics than Smallville?
I am a huge fan of the Superman movies, not so much the comics or Smallville. However my fiance is addicted to the show. Note that he has never read the comics.

Does anyone else feel that Superman is just a little bit over-rated?|||Superman has too many powers and too few weaknesses to be a good hero. There is just too little room for enemies who can defeat him. I'm a girl and I am super excited about this movie but evern more excited about Spiderman 3 next year.|||Saw it last night. LOVED it and I'm not even a die-hard superman fan.|||YES! The trailer isn't that good. Plus Superman is a lot younger than Lex Luther. They should be about the same age.|||Well i think superman is old and out dated. He is like a cheaper version of spiderman.|||I saw this movie last night and thought it was really good. I'd recommend people to watch it. I don't think its overrated because I really haven't heard THAT much about it - I've heard more about Pirates of the Caribbean and Spiderman 3.|||Superman is a great movie or cartoon many people enjoy very much. Most people have their own opinions. Some like him, some don't, but I'm one that don't think superman will ever be overrated in my book.|||Saw it last week...not diehard fan...45 minutes too long...probably the flying scenes in 3-D will be great...lots of special effects....same old thin story line..never saw the others ....but the door is open now for the next full length movie...Had I paid $10 I might have considered it 2-1/2 hours in the A/C with a just OK movie.|||I feel as though it's nice to have things for children like superman and spiderman and batman to fight evil dooers.
BUT....it gets a little rediculous when they spend over 225 MILLION dollars making a movie. The new Superman Returns movie cost more than ANY other movie to make EVER. Thats going a little overboard.|||it's superman what do you expect?|||No way, I can't wait to see it!! Superman has always been a favorite superhero of mine so I might be a little biased but besides the whole goofy superman hairdo whats not to like about him? He definitely is better than other superheros. Think about it...Batman wears a chestplate and Superman can take a bullet to the chest. Spiderman is cool with his webs zipping around and stuff but Superman can actually fly! Way cool. It doesn't hurt that the guy who plays him is gorgeous!
Edit: I just realized how teeny bopper that sounded...oh well. I love him... But I am really not some airhead teeny bopper I promise haha.|||The movie is overhyped, though the reviews seem mixed to negative. I think the original movie was such a big deal because it gave us a way to celebrate the purity of the American ideal, even though none of us really can achieve it all the way. The world could use a real Superman, though for many with faith, that is how they view Jesus or whichever creed they follow.|||Yeah.. I am a Batman type of gal... no super powers just cool gadgets! But you gotta love Superman's plastic hair!|||not overrated no...

Superman's alter ego is Clark Kent. If you check the CW on TV, they run it as Smallville. That's supposed to be Clark's younger days. His emeny is Lex Luthor, and the "rock" you've heard discussed is Kryptonite...pieces of Clark's destroyed home world (hence alien) Krypton. He was sent to earth as a baby from there before the planet blew up (his father was a scientist and tried to tell the planet of it's demise before it was too late[kinda like Al Gore, but without the good media buzz or political agenda]). He "died" for a while, being "killed" at the hands of Doomsday (or as I call him, "Comic Book Sale Booster"). Now, Clark is married (as far as I know) to Lois Lane and he tries to balance being a husband, a working stiff (is he still on the Daily Planet?), and a Superhero!
Of course the question must be asked:Why pick a superhero if you nothing about superheroes? If you needed to write about a hero, go down to your local Police, Fire or EMS station in your town...a lot of heroes are there. They save lives every day, and keep us safe.
If it was a character you needed, the Library has books full of them (even SUPERMAN!). As one person wrote you, do the research!|||Include this in your paper "You don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit in the wind, You don't pull the mask off that old lone ranger, and you don't mess around with Jim!"|||You should pick a really cool super hero to do like Wolverine or something not superman because he sucks...wolverine is the REAL superman
